Managed pub and bar operator Orchid Group, is converting two more of its pubs into its Pizza Kitchen & Bar format as part of a £20m, three-year capital investment programme. The two pubs are The Gate in Wood Green which has already opened under the concept and the Red Lion in Oxford which will open this Thursday.
The £20m spend will involve repositioning investments – moving wet-led pubs to food-led offerings - and “shine spends” where the retail offer is evolved.
Chief executive Rufus Hall stated on Friday: “We currently have six businesses on site and by the end of this year, Orchid will have invested £1.9m in 19 repositioning and shine investments.”
