Catering Academy wins £18m worth of business

Catering Academy, the independent contract caterer, has announced it has won 16 new contracts, bringing in £18m worth of business over the next three years, taking its annual turnover to around £35m.

The contract wins are predominately in the education sector and adds to the £5m worth of contracts it has already secured in 2013. Schools now in the company’s portfolio include Cambridge Regional College, Kingston Maurward College, Reading College and four new academy schools.

The new wins follow the appointment of three regional directors: Clare Flanagan, Kevin Green, and Lesley Pekun.

Catering Academy’s founder director Kevin Cannon said: “The appointment of a new national craft team, which is headed up by our executive chef Mark Owen, has added significantly to our fresh food offer and innovative menu compilation, driving cost effective food solutions that offer value as well as fantastic tasting food.”

The caterer currently operates more than 140 contracts across the education, B&I and healthcare sectors.
