Independent contract catering company, Catering Academy has clinched a five-year deal worth £3.75m with Synergy consortium, a group of 10 primary schools in Coventry.
This is the first schools consortium contract won by the caterer, which began the deal in June and is now supplying 1,500 meals a day
Catering Academy was chosen over 8 other firms as the consortium had been impressed by its capability to deliver on the Universal Infant Free School Meals scheme, which is set to be implemented from September 2014.
Formed in 2004, the company specialises in catering across the Education, Health and B&I sectors.
