Catering Academy signs £2.25m deal with Waterhead Academy

Independent contract caterer Catering Academy has signed a new five-year contract with secondary school Waterhead Academy, in Oldham, near Manchester.

The new contract is worth £2.25m and will see the caterer provide all food services to the 1,450 students based at the academy’s main campus in Oldham. They will also be opening a “private dining room” restaurant on site for students who achieve especially good results, in a bid to foster a strong work ethic. All food will be prepared in the academy’s specially-designed kitchen on site that serves both halal and non-halal food in order to help cater for the students’ various diet requirements.

Recent contract wins for Catering Academy includes an extension to its £3.5m contract at Adam’s Grammar school in Shropshire, which it has held since 2010 and a combined £18m worth of contracts within schools which will alone boost its annual turnover to around £35m.
