Catering Academy lands two healthcare contracts

Catering Academy has secured a five-year deal covering two sites for housing association Pembrokeshire Housing. The win, the culmination of a competitive tender, follows a period of investment into this sector for the company.

Catering Academy will handle two ‘Homes for Life’ contracts with Pembrokeshire Housing in Merlins Bridge and Steynton, delivering lunchtime meals to 100 residents across the two schemes.

Communication with and involvement of the residents regarding changes and processes was a key driver for the team at the housing association, according to the caterer. It attributes its win to the ability to demonstrate food service excellence paired with an understanding of residents’ requirements.

Graham Holmes, Housing Director at Pembrokeshire Housing, said: “This service is important to our residents and they were an important part in the assessment process that resulted in the decision to appoint Catering Academy. I have been impressed by the enthusiasm and can-do attitude of the Catering Academy team during the crucial early stages of this contract.”

Catering Academy recently appointed a general manager for healthcare, responsible for working with the senior management team to drive growth in this area.
