Glasgow hotel named one of the UK’s best historic hotels

The iconic Grand Central Hotel in Glasgow has been officially recognised as one of the country’s very best historic hotels.

LateRooms.com announced the winners of its ‘Simply the Guest’ awards – the only awards in the UK based solely on guest reviews.

The famous Glasgow hotel, which boasts a star-studded past guest list including Winston Churchill, JFK and Frank Sinatra, has been ranked within the top ten in its category after receiving almost faultless guest reviews over the last 12 months.

Reviews can only be left by guests who have booked with LateRooms.com and completed their stay, meaning that, over the last year, the Grand Central Hotel has consistently wowed its guests thanks to four-star surroundings and service.

Graeme Gibson, general manager of the Grand Central Hotel, said, “Our guests are the people who matter most to us, so to be awarded an accolade based solely on their feedback is fantastic.

“It’s also very fitting that our award comes under the historic hotels category. We’re exceptionally proud of the hotel’s rich history – it really is a Glasgow city icon.”

LateRooms.com spokesperson, Andrea Tarpey, said, “Being named as a Simply the Guest Awards finalist places the Grand Central Hotel firmly amongst the nation’s best loved historic hotels. It’s an achievement that’s testament to the team’s absolute dedication to guest satisfaction over the past year.

“The LateRooms.com Simply the Guest Awards are the only industry accolade to be decided solely by genuine guest reviews and so they are best placed to accurately reflect which properties are performing best in the UK.”

Highlighting the influential role guest reviews play in booking a hotel, the LateRooms.com Simply The Guest Awards have been officially recognising the efforts and achievements of hotels in the UK and abroad since the awards began in 2012.
