Fortnum & Mason launches new standalone store

Fortnum & Mason has opened its first new standalone store in 307 years. The new 2,000 sq ft store, the company's third, is located at King's Cross St Pancras station, in the former Eurostar ticket office and stocks a selection of its food and drink products.

“St Pancras is London’s Grand Central Station,” said chief executive, Ewan Venters. “It’s a great opportunity. We feel the centre of gravity in London is moving north and east from Piccadilly. Thirty-five million people a year go through the station, and nearly a quarter of those people are going there to shop rather than to travel.”

Fortnum's has previously opened concessions in airport terminal, the new store is expected to be a scaled down version of the main, including tea services and food-to-go for rail passengers.
