Union Hanover to develop £70m hotel in Stratford City


Real Estate and hotel development firm, Hanover Union has announced plans to develop a £70m boutique New York inspired hotel at Lend Lease and London & Continental Railways’ International Quarter in Stratford City, East London.

The announcement follows the acquisition of Starboard Hotels’ share in the project and completion of the land purchase.

The 220-bedroom hotel called the Penny Brook will operate under Union Hanover’s NOHO hospitality brand.

The hotel will feature a rooftop bar and restaurant as well as 15,000 sq.ft conference facilities and also include a pop up food market with an aim to “bring a taste of New York’s trendy Meatpacking District to E20'

Managing director Eric Jafari said, “We believe that we can create a New York inspired boutique hotel that will inject a real buzz into Stratford which has unrivalled access to the city, West End and Canary Wharf.'

'We are in talks with a number of high-end restaurant operators and have a number of creative initiatives which will ensure this will offer a unique hospitality experience.”
