BaxterStorey wins five-year catering contract with Carmarthenshire College

BaxterStorey has secured a five-year catering services contract with Coleg Sir Gâr, a further education college in Carmarthenshire, which operates across five campuses in the county.

The hospitality company will manage restaurants, cafes, retail outlets, hospitality services, and vending across all five campuses, catering to over 5,000 students, 1,000 employees, and visitors.

As part of the agreement, BaxterStorey will make a significant investment in Coleg Sir Gâr’s catering facilities to enhance the customer experience. This investment will include new heavy and light equipment, updated signage and branding, digital screens, and an Airstream food trailer offering street food and coffee outside the college’s Forge sports hall, fitness suite, and international-standard all-weather sports training pitch.

The company will also establish a 24-hour service area in the main reception, featuring new vending machines and a Starbucks-branded beverage machine, ensuring that snacks and drinks are available around the clock.

The contract began on September 2nd, just ahead of the new academic term.

Daryl Williams, BaxterStorey operations manager – Wales, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to have been awarded this new flagship partnership with Coleg Sir Gâr, who were impressed by our enthusiasm, energy and ideas during the presentation and bid stages of the tender process.

“This is a very important new partnership for our business in Wales, especially as we continue to grow and develop our Welsh business. We see further education as an existing growth market with further opportunities that we’ll be exploring in the future.

“My team and I are very excited and looking forward to implementing our initiatives and fresh food offer, using the best of the Welsh larder to enhance the student experience at Coleg Sir Gâr. The college has been so welcoming and accommodating already, I believe our new partnership will develop into a progressive and long lasting one.”
