Paul O’Leary, former executive at Boden, has been appointed to the board of the Revel Collective bar group.
Previously known as Revolution Bars Group, the business underwent a significant restructuring earlier this year, resulting in the closure of approximately 14 bars. It now operates around 60 locations, including Revolution Bars and the Peach Pubs Collective.
O’Leary has been appointed as a non-executive director of the company, joining Gavin George, founder of Laine Pub Company, and hospitality investor Charlie McVeigh on the board.
Hospitality entrepreneur Luke Johnson became non-executive chairman of the company in September after acquiring a 20% stake earlier this year.
O’Leary brings extensive financial and management experience in the consumer sector, having served as chief financial officer at the clothing retailer Boden from 2000 to 2019, followed by a role as chief operating officer from 2019 to 2024.
O’Leary currently serves on the Boden board as a non-executive director and audit committee chair. He is also expected to chair the Revel Collective’s audit committee.
Johnson said: 'Paul has deep experience of the UK retail sector as the long-serving finance director at Boden, and we look forward to taking advantage of his advice and knowledge as we navigate the challenging conditions ahead.'
