Signature Living brings two hotels to market for £57m

Signature Living is putting its two best-known Liverpool hotels on the market, The Shankly Hotel and 30 James Street.

The company aims to reach £50m-plus through the sales in order to fund expansion plans, which would see the company grow from 1,400 to 3,000 employees over the next 18 months.

Themed around legendary Liverpool FC manager Bill Shankly, The Shankly Hotel was developed in collaboration with members of the Shankly family and opened in 2015. It includes The Bastion restaurant and is valued at £40m.

The 63-bed hotel, 30 James Street, which opened in 2014 and includes the Carpathia restaurant, has been valued at £17m.

Signature’s ongoing developments in Liverpool include the Dixie Dean Hotel opposite the Shankly in Victoria Street, while it has also announced plans to turn the Cavern Walks complex into a hotel.

Beyond Liverpool it is working on two schemes in Belfast, two in Manchester, and projects in Preston, Cardiff and Rainhill.

Signature Living has also announced plans for a party-cruise ship.
